In Blog post 14, I am using an "X-ray" process so i can see the "bones" of my Research project argument. At this point, my research project is still a work-in-progress, so this post serves as a part of my revision process.
1. My thesis statement is: I'm not sure if my thesis statement is all the way there but this is what i have. Instagram is affecting our mental health. Kids of young age are getting bullied through Instagram, it causes anxiety and depression, and makes you second guess your appearance because all you see on Instagram is models with their perfect bodies. 2. My first supporting point that argues the how or why of my Zeitgeist is:
4. My third supporting point that argues the how or why of my Zeitgeist is:

In Blog Post 13 I will be writing a reflection talking about some of the challenges that i am facing within my topic. In my ALP class we went over my research project and my professor helped me with some new ideals on making my project come together better. I needed to go back and find more credible sources to my topic. Change some things around within my research, add more genres. Mr. Sabatino even gave me the cool ideal to add a tomb stone in my project showing how getting ride of Instagram likes are affecting the teens in negative and positive ways. I find my meetings with my professor very helpful. It's showing me ways that i can make my project better and Im enjoying researching my topic.
Welcome back to this weeks Post 12! In this Blog post i will be furthering my research on how Instagram is affecting our mental Health by taking a look at the website called Complaining truth about social media. Mainstream Media presents unrealistic beauty standards in the form of photoshopped celebrities or skinny models. We don't accept the way people look in todays world outside of Instagram. People are comparing their appearance to people on Instagram images, and they often judge themselves to be worse off. In a report of 227 female university students on the Complaining truth about social media shows women reported that they tend to compare their own appearance negatively with their peer group and with celebrities.
Welcome back to my Blog! From Blog Post 10 we were asking to find a American Zeitgeist topic and i choose how does Instagram affect our Mental health. on this blog post i will be furthering my research and annotating the website about How Instagram Hiding likes affects your mental health. Instagram is the Social Media Platform that is most detrimental to young peoples well being. When you go on Instagram you see that beneath every post is a "Like" button. A like button on social media today represents a positive community feedback.
In an effort to reduce focus on "likes" Instagram may try and hide the likes on a post They already tested this in 7 different countries. If Instagram decides to move forward with this change than only you will be able to see how many likes you receive on a post. Removing likes has many people hopeful. When using Instagram if you feel any type of stress, anxious, or depressed. Theres many different steps to help you improve your mental health like on the picture above. Welcome back to my Blog! For this weeks blog post we were asked to research a Zeitgeist topic and find out some information about our topic to get us started with our research. I will be answering Questions from the Blog Post 10 to help me better understand what a Zeitgeist is and my topic.
When first figuring out a Zeitgeist topic you need to understand what a Zeitgeist is. A Zeitgeist is the spirit of times, is the energy that sweeps through society, motivating new ideals, needs and desire. The subjects that i want to do my research on is how Social media affects us. when finding most of my information i will use the website Social media is affecting the way we view our bodies- and it's not good. This topic impacts males and females the most. This website it provides you with lots of statistics and videos on how both females and males view themselves because of social media and wanting to be like them affects their well being. When you go on Instagram you see women and men with perfect bodies and fit. When others see this they may think they want their body to be just like theirs and may not be able to achieve that. 22.8% of women fell that social media is the highest thing that impacts the way they feel about their bodies and 17.8% of males feel as though social media affects the way they feel about their bodies. Instagram first launched on October 6, 2010. Instagram is a photo and video- sharing social networking service owned by Facebook. This Zeitgeist affects the Instagram community. What some people see on Instagram it affects them in a way and they may want to look or be like the person they are following and that may cause them to become insecure. This topic is important to me because i want others to feel comfortable in their own body and not want to change themselves because they see others on Instagram. I want to make a change by letting everyone know that they should just be comfortable in their own bodies and to just love themselves for who they are. |
